Southeast New Mexico College Staff members receive NISOD Excellence Award

Southeast New Mexico College Staff members, Saul Navarrete and Luz Moreno receive NISOD Excellence Award 


(CARLSBAD, NM) Luz Moreno, Director of the Learning Technology Center, and Saul Navarrete, Classroom Media Technologist at Southeast New Mexico College (SENMC), were honored with the NISOD Excellence Award in May. NISOD is the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development. SENMC, a proud NISOD member, is thrilled to celebrate the recognition of these outstanding educators. The Excellence Awards, a NISOD tradition, acknowledge the top educators in community colleges and their significant contributions to the academic community.

 NISOD’s mission is to empower faculty, administrators, and staff at community and technical colleges grow professionally,  strive for excellence, make an impact, and gain recognition. According to NISOD, since 1991, The NISOD Excellence award provides NISOD member colleges the opportunity to recognize individuals doing great work on their campus. The NISOD Excellence Award recipients are honored during the annual NISOD Conference in Austin Texas, where they receive a unique silver engraved medallion at the Excellence Awards Celebration and Dinner. 

SENMC Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr. Mickey Best stated, “The Learning Technology Center, or “The LTC” as it is often referred to by students, faculty, staff, and many community members, is a technological lifeline for everyone who would benefit from learning and technology offered at SENMC.  The well-deserved recognition of Luz Moreno and Saul Navarrete by the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD) represents an acknowledgment of the commitment the Center’s staff demonstrates each day to help individuals to succeed.”
