Southeast New Mexico College Commencement Ceremony

(CARLSBAD, NM) Southeast New Mexico College is proud to announce the 2023 Commencement Ceremony, celebrating the accomplishments of the class of 2023. The Ceremony will take place tonight, Friday, May 12 ^th, 2023 at 6 PM at the Walter Garrell’s Performing Arts and Exhibition Center with a reception to follow. Graduates have worked hard to achieve this milestone in their academic journey. This year’s Commencement Ceremony will be a unique moment in the history of the campus, as it will be the last Commencement Ceremony to recognize students graduating with a NMSU Conferred Degree and the first graduation to recognize students graduating with a SENMC Conferred Degree.

Murray Camphouse, SENMC 2023 graduate said “ My experience at SENMC has been awesome. The campus feels a lot more personal. It has been nice starting off at a campus where you know everyone here. The COVID- 19 Pandemic was rough, and the staff was super supportive during that time. If I ever needed help, I could always ask. I feel close to my professors, when I see them in the hallway they always say hi. After graduation I will be at UNM next semester pursuing animation. My long-term career goals are to hopefully make it into dreamworks or if that does not work out to start my own small animation business.”

SENMC will also be celebrating its nursing graduates with the Nursing Pinning Ceremony on Saturday, May 13 ^th , 2023 at 1 PM at the Pecos River Village Conference Center.
