Luz Moreno

Luz Stella Moreno has had a diverse and impressive career at SENMC spanning multiple roles and responsibilities. Luz began her journey at SENMC as a part-time teacher in 2001, helping students prepare for the GED test and guiding them in utilizing resources like Skill Bank and English Express. In 2003, she transitioned to the role of Teaching Technician II. Here, she played a crucial role in implementing educational technology such as Plato Pathways and Student Space. She was also involved in day-to-day grant activities and worked closely with the grant director on budget and resource expenditures. Additionally, during 2007-2009, she devoted her efforts to curriculum development and provided technical and instructional support to instructors. 

In 2009, Luz moved to LTC as an educational assistant. Here, she used her knowledge to implement the new Learning Management System (LMS) Canvas. She created training materials and conducted workshops for faculty and students to facilitate the transition from Blackboard to Canvas. She also assisted faculty members with course design and took on the role of a QM coordinator. In 2013, Luz took on the role of Multimedia Specialist. Alongside her responsibilities in this role, she continued to serve as a QM reviewer, indicating her ongoing involvement in quality assurance efforts. She also participated in committee work, including the Diversity Committee and Distance Education Advisory Committee. Furthermore, she organized and coordinated a Professional Development Forum, contributing to the development of the institution's educational programs. 

Luz's educational background includes a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Master of Arts in Education from New Mexico State University. She has been recognized with the Crimson Scholar award and was named Employee of the Month in June 2012. Outside of her professional life, Luz enjoys planting, traveling, and exploring new cultures in her free time.
