Jalal Hamedi

Dr. Jalal Hamedi has been with NMSU-C/SENMC since 2013 and is currently the chair of the social sciences department. He has been teaching sociology/psychology and occasionally has taught anthropology and philosophy.

Currently, Dr. Hamedi is a part of the Diversity Committee and co-chairs the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He is a member of the Faculty Senate, a member of the Advisory Committee from the Carlsbad library, and a member of the Pantry Assistance Program. He was also appointed to be a member of the Roush Award committee and he also was the recipient of the Roush award in 2018.

Dr. Hamedi is known for helping out during any college or campus events. He frequently volunteers at the state fair for the SENMC booth as well as other festivals and events. He wants students to know that he has a big heart and would like to help them in any way possible in order for them to achieve their educational goals.
