Patricia Zane Biebelle

Professor Patricia Zane Biebelle has been with NMSU-C/SENMC since 2013 and is currently a Professor in the Department of English, Communications, Fine Arts, and Digital Media. She teaches a wide range of English classes varying from, ‘Composition 1’, ‘Introduction to Creative Writing,’ and ‘Film as Literature.’

Professor Biebelle is originally from Carlsbad, New Mexico. She graduated from New Mexico State University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and in 2010, she earned her Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Fiction from the University of Oregon. Currently, she serves on the Promotion and Tenure Committee and is the President of the Faculty Senate. In 2022 she was the recipient of the Donald C. Roush Award for teaching excellence.

Professor Biebelle is known for her volunteer work during community events such as Riverblitz as well as on-campus activities. She believes in the notion of teaching students life lessons from her classroom. Her favorite quote is from Margret Atwood, "A word after a word after a word is power."
