Mickey Best

Dr. Best spent a majority of his career as a faculty member and administrator working in southeast New Mexico. He is the Founding Director of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts at New Mexico Junior College (NMJC) in Hobbs and received his Ph.D. in Arts Administration from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. He has served as Dean of Arts and Sciences at NMJC, Executive Dean of Liberal Arts in the Dallas College system, Vice President for Academic Affairs at South Arkansas College in El Dorado, and as Campus President at NMSU Grants. Working at SENMC as Interim VPAA is one of the most exciting and rewarding professional experiences of his career. He looks forward to the work ahead with the faculty, staff, and students of SENMC.
