Robert Trautner MPA, NRP

My professional background is largely focused on emergency management of resources and personnel.  Early in my adult life I served active duty in the US Army.  After receiving my MS in Zoology/Botany I joined the National Park Service as a Park Ranger.  For ten years I served in some of the nation's best parks in AZ, NM, UT, WY, and TX.  My service continued for nine more years with Carlsbad Fire Department, in New Mexico, I am licensed paramedic, swift water rescue technician, hazmat technician and rope rescue technician.  For the last 15 years, I have achieved additional qualifications through the National Wildfire Coordination Group as a wildland firefighter, Single-resource Boss, and Medical Unit Leader.  I am a certified scuba instructor and a Team Leader for the National Cave Rescue Commission.  My graduate level education includes an MPA in Emergency Services Management.  I find deep satisfaction in caring for our resources and applying dynamic strategies to protect life and property. The mission of emergency management and resource protection are a good fit for my skillset and passion.
